I was curious how you setup your AD OU structure for your Virtual Desktops. Does anyone know or have a reference to best practice for OU structure with using Virtual Desktops. Some background: Currently we are using VMware View to broker our VDI desktops. We have two physical locations in the same city, connected by a gigabit link. We have two esx host clusters one at each location. We use the highspeed link to provide for DR between clusters if needed, and the VMs can be relocated and/or used on the remote cluster by a local client from the opposite location without any impact. We also have one branch office that is connected by a slow wan link. Though we currently do not provide any Virtual Desktops to that location.
So I was wondering, how do you manage your VMs as far as OU structure? Do you seperate Virtual Desktops by location, by role, some other characteristic? Do you keep your Virtual Desktops seperate from your Physicals, Etc? Do you apply different AD policies based on cluster the VM lives in?Just curious how some people approach this. Thanks for your input.
