So this is a weird one.
Every since installing the View 7.5 agent on our parent VMs we cannot install MS Security updates. After reinstalling 7.1 and 7.4 or uninstall the agent all together, we can install MS patches. This is the error we get upon it rebooting post patch install.
Re-cloned the parent VM
Reinstalled the agent
Downloaded patch from MS catelog
Downloaded patch from our deployment tool
Installed Agent 7.5.1
Deleted various regkeys found on technet forums related this error
This is happening on all 5 of our parent images with 7.5 install. Any ideas here? I've contacted support but we are in kind of a hurry since we are deploying patches soon.
Do you have enough disk space on the parent VMs? I would think it would yell/error on the install versus post-reboot but like you said, it's a weird one.
And is it Win10, 7, or other?
