HCX bulk migration fails with error "Source side vm directory has 0 Byte file with '.vmxf' extension

Source side vm directory has 0 Byte file with '.vmxf' extension, RAV/Bulk migration is not supported. Please remove or make it non-zero. Concerned file(s): [{"path":".vmxf","fileSize":0}]. Please assist

I would open a GSS ticket with the vSphere team to investigate the 0 byte file, it is not a HCX related issue.

One thing you could try is to storage vMotion the VM and see if the file remains, or clone it as an example.

Are you taking backups while running the bulk migration ?

Is this happening to one VM or multiple VMs?Are there any snapshots in the source?

Perform a svmotion to a different DS and clean up and retry bulk migration again?
