I downloaded the new software here https://blogs.vmware.com/teamfusion/2021/09/fusion-for-m1-public-tech-preview-now-available.html for the Mac M1 and am still getting the error message KB-84273. What else do I need to do?

Are you trying to run an x86_64 VM on Apple silicon?

Yes I am. I'm either not finding the right documentation or there is a lack of it. Simply running the platform from the link I provided did not work.

That's because what you are attempting to do will NEVER work with this product.  If you want to run an x86/x64 OS on an ARM processor, then you need an emulation product, not a virtualization product.

.. to add to what RPetruska says, there is NO SUCH product in the market today.
AFAIK only UTM can emulate x86 on Arm and from what I understand the performance isn't good enough for day to day use.

You're welcome to try that though.
