support for using rosetta translation for linux x86_64 binaries

Does anybody know if the tech preview adds support for using rosetta translation for linux x86_64 binaries on MacOS Ventura ?

As documented over here...

https://developer.apple.com/documentation/virtualization/running_intel_binaries_in_linux_vms_with_ro...

This would be very useful to speed up running x86_64 containers in docker, which currently is very slow.

I've tested a while ago by building the Apple Virtualization framework samples on the current Ventura beta and the speed improvements are really great. See geekbench link.

https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/15569610

Kind regards,

Joost

I do not believe that it does. This would be something to ask for in the Fusion for Apple Silicon Ideas forum: https://communities.vmware.com/t5/Fusion-for-Apple-Silicon-Ideas/idb-p/fusion-ideas-2021

That functionality is provided by Apple's Virtualization framework which is their higher level framework. Fusion uses the lower level Hypervisor framework which does not provide that capability.
