VHDX to ISO

Hello,

Just installed the new Fusion preview released for Apple Silicon. I grabbed the latest VHDX from Microsoft's Insider web page. On a Mac, what is the best way to convert the VHDX file to ISO for use with VMWare Fusion Pro?

Thanks

Joe

Have you read the Tech Preview guide?  And search the forum here as well.

This is covered with instructions on page 22 of the Testing Guide.

Basically... you convert the .VHDX into a .vmdk using QEMU.

You then create a Custom VM using this .vmdk.

You may also want to grab the unofficial Tips and Technques document https://communities.vmware.com/t5/Fusion-22H2-Tech-Preview/Tips-and-Techniques-for-the-Apple-Silicon... - it has some advice that will make your installation go smoother.

In particular the qemu-img sample command line for converting the VHDX file to VMDK in the Tech Preview Testing Guide is wrong. A corrected version is in the Tips and Techniques guide.
