Hi,
I managed to sucessfully install Fusion for M1 once. Then I accidentally removed it... I know sorry! Now I can never install it again it always stays stuck in the phase as attached. This is what I think is the most relevant part of the log:

Although I attached the whole log anyway just in case. Hope you can help driving me crazy on it. The signal 15 is where I killed it and gave up.
Thanks,
Martin.
How are you installing and how did you remove it?
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. Double click on the icon to install, removed it by deleting the app from the application folder. The normal way to delete most mac apps. To be honest kind of given up on it and I connect to my proxmox VM's via RDP these days. Even tried creating a new user and installing it still stuck. One thing to add no idea if this makes any difference the mac is part of Intune. Possible I suppose they could have imposed a policy that might stop me from installing it now?
Thanks,
Martin.
P.S. Sorry for the SPAM disabled SIP as well to see if that helped but no go.
Ok, after dragging the application to the trash, you need to empty trash and then reboot. Once you do that you should be able to install again.
And just saw the Intune comment. Absolutely that could be part of the problem. You have to install from an administrator account, and then authenticate during the installation process to allow privileged tools to install and run.
I have admin though far as I am aware. If I look in the users and groups it says I am admin. I did all the autnetication when it asked and that went fine until it got stuck. Also does that explain why it installed once ok and never again? Oh and yes rebooted many times since removing it and removed it from the trash. I even considered using time machine to go back to the point before but that felt too much and anyway that is too late now as the backup where it worked is long gone now.
Plus I have the proxmox VM's so kind of learning to accept the fact it will never work although thought worth asking here to see if anyone had any ideas and it is a shame as I am prepared to post in these forums with info when I use it and can't do that now as I cannot install anymore.
Thanks,
Martin.
Oh and with a bit of Googling found that the x86 version has been known to do the same thing and the fix was to manually remove everything. Although I tried that but did not work for me ![]()
FYI I sorted this out. There was some files still reaming from the previous install in the filesystem that were not mentioned in any articles. Delete them and it reinstalls. There was a privileged helper tool still hiding on the filesystem. Delete and it's all fine.
One reason that can linger is if it's been disabled with a third-party utility.
Hello, I have encountered the same problem as you, which is that I was unable to install vmware after uninstalling it. What files do I need to clean to successfully reinstall? thanks
