Looking forward to the final release of brand new VMware Fusion 13 for ARM-based Apple Silicon Macs to run Windows 11.

While good news, I fear the article is insinuating that "the Mac is a great Windows machine" . My fear is that this is going to lead once again to people buying a Mac only to run a Windows VM on it. It does not benefit the Mac platform to have it perceived as "another Windows box".

See Howard Oakley's article at https://eclecticlight.co/2022/08/14/last-week-on-my-mac-not-a-pc/ . It is food for thought.

That is definitely a good thought. Yes, some people purchase a Macintosh to run Windows because it runs better. I hope that Apple never re-enables Boot Camp as virtualization is better than dual booting. Instead of lamenting that some programmers focus more on Windows than macOS, we should develop competing products to show the power of the platform. Of course people have begun to realize that only 60% of desktops run Windows, while ≈38% run macOS, and the remainder ≈2% run Linux of some sort, at least in the United States of America.

I think that Apple is betting on applications cross pollenating from iOS/iPadOS to the Apple Silicon Macs, not just developing for iOS/iPadOS on the Mac for those platforms.

If you consider including iOS/iPadOS as computing platforms in those figures, Windows comes in #2. Or maybe #3 behind Android.

My thoughts are if my primary requirements lead me to needing Windows most of the time, and I've chosen a Mac, then I have to pause and think - did I choose the right tool?
