Hi all,
I was able to install an Ubuntu server VM under Big Sur however since upgrading to Monterey (perhaps should have held off) I've found segfaults (on previously created vms) and failed installs for new instances (both 20.04.3 and 21.04 ubuntu) - so would seem like an update is needed.
Are other folks seeing this also?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling fusion?
What exactly is segfaulting? Fusion itself? Guest OS? Application within guest OS?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling fusion?
Thanks, this was a good idea - I removed the files noted in https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1017838 and restarted fusion (which reinstalled/regenerated them) and subsequent to this it worked. I didn't fully remove/replace the fusion app, as that didn't make sense to me (and in the end I didn't need to).
cd /Library/Application\ Support
find VMware* -exec echo rm -rf \"{}\" \; | sudo sh
cd ~/Library
find . \( -name "*VMware*" -o -name "*vmware*" \) -exec echo rm -rf \"{}\" \; 2>/dev/null | sh
Thanks!
guest os / application within guests - fusion itself didn't crash at any time.
