Locating ISO for Windows 11

Hi there,

I'm inexperienced with VMs, but need to install Windows 11 on my Mac to run some software that only runs on Windows.

I've installed VMWare, and gotten halfway through the process, but am stuck when I go to choose the disc image. I may be incorrect, but my understanding was that the Windows 11 download (VHDX file) would have the disc image file with it. If not, does anyone know where I can find a reputable place to download it? Not sure which sites are trustworthy as I'm so new to this.

Thanks for the help!

The VHDX file obtained from the Windows Insider program does not provide an ISO file for installation. The VHDX file must be converted into a VMDK file and then attached to a virtual machine instance.

Please see Section 11 in the unofficial Tips and Techniques document for the Tech Preview found here: https://communities.vmware.com/t5/Fusion-for-Apple-Silicon-Tech/Tips-Techniques-Gotchas-for-the-Tech...

It contains more information on how to convert and attach the VHDX file so that it can be used with the Tech Preview. If you want to do a fresh install from an ISO file, the document also contains information about how to download an ISO of Windows 11 ARM. Once downloaded, use the procedure found in the official Tech Preview Testing Guide https://communities.vmware.com/t5/Fusion-for-Apple-Silicon-Tech/Fusion-Tech-Preview-Testing-Guide/ta... in order to install it.
