The Tech Preview testing guide says that Fedora 36 installers won't work. I was able to find a work-around that will allow the installation and use of Fedora 36 on the Tech Preview:
Reboot, and you will have the ability to resize the graphical screen. Not only will the resizing work from within the VM, but you can resize the window and the resolution in the VM will change as well.

Hopefully 36 gets kernel 5.19 (and soonish) which should address all of this.

Great. I've also found that latest spins of openSUSE Tumbleweed now contain a 5.19 kernel.
Awaiting when Ubuntu will follow suit...
