Failure to boot Linux Kernel 5.15.31, works with 5.15.26

The Linux kernel maintainers have made fixes to address recently discovered kernel vulnerabilities. These fixes appear to have rendered them unbootable on the Tech Preview. These fixes are being back ported to earlier kernel versions.

It's likely that you have encountered a version of the kernel distributed through nixOS that has these fixes. Your only recourse at this time is to boot with an earlier kernel.

VMware is aware of the situation but has not released any fix yet. And before you ask, they have not given us a timeline to do so.
