CentOS Stream 9 on ARM

I have successfully built a CentOS Stream 9 VM on my Mac mini M1 using 22H2.

I downloaded the latest CentOS Stream 9 DVD from https://www.centos.org/centos-stream/#tab-3. I selected Fedora as the type of Linux when setting up the VM.

If you try to boot with 3D Graphics enabled, you'll get the "VMware has shutdown the VM" error. Booting without 3D works and installation proceeds normally.

The kernel is 5.14.0-134.el9.aarch64.

After installation, everything seems to work except sound. The VM adjust resolution automatically.

For those of you who might remember the Symbolics Lisp Machine, here's the VLM (Virtual Lisp Machine) running under CentOS Stream 9. (I am the author of the native ARM and Intel implementations of the VLM.)

Mac mini (M2 Pro/32GB/2TB), Intel NUC10i5FNH w/ESXi 7.0,
iPhone 15 Pro Max (256GB), iPad Pro 12.9" (5th gen, M1/16GB/1TB)
41mm Watch Series 9 (Aluminum), TV 4K (3rd gen), TV 4K (1st gen)

Excellent report and it matches my experience with CentOS 9 Stream for installation. Haven't tried to play with 3D acceleration, so that data point is appreciated. My guess is that kernel doesn't have the updated VMware graphics driver that can work with the accelerated 3D bits of the TP. I would think though that it shouldn't shut down the VM either.
