HI,
I just want to know, how to design vsphere 5 for > 96 GB of RAM. The maximum CPU for this design will be maximum at 8 COre.
The VM will running on REdhat (database) server using mySQL
For the storage, we'll using a FC storage with proper disk installed
Thank you
you only need to design for performance, everything else is handled by default. following document is surly helpful

Some of the things to watch out for include the size of the rest of the guests in your cluster and slot sizes. Since you're running MySQL, you'll probably want to reserve most or all of the memory. When you reserve large memory footprints, you need to be more careful about your cluster capacity.
A general rule of thumb is that a guest should be no more than half the size of the host - this suggests that you'll want some really big hosts (eg. 16-core/256GB Gen8 blades from HP).
Thank you
