backup failed. what about _VCB-CLEANUP_

esx 3.5

I had an error running a backup from the backup server with the script:

call "C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Consolidated Backup Framework\backupexec\pre-backup.bat" VM erp2-FullVM

error on the VM is: unable to communicate with the remote host since it is disconnected

On the backup server the only file I found in the backup folder is: umount.dat

fullvm

uuid:50368645-39df-ded3-ac33-130e7ab4084b

ssid:snapshot-398

In VM snapshot manager I found the snapshot VCB-CLEANUP description: cleanin up VM snapshot database

What to do to clean the situation ?

Is ok only to delete the snapshot ?

I've a previous snapshot for the same VM and I need to mantain it.

Thanks in advance,

Valter

Hi,

I removed the snapsht from the vmware infrastructure client.

Select the VM / snapshot / snapshot manager

select VBC_CLEANUP and delete it

you can't use vcbmounter for that specific task as far as i know. you should use the vcbCleanup commandline tool instead.
