have you dowloaded the client? Point your favorite web browser to the IP of either of your ESX hosts to download and install. This will allow you to manage both ESX Hosts as standalone.

Also, if you plan to go beyond a couple hosts you may someday want to think about vCenter, which will get you a central point of amdinistration as well as a bunch of other features, like HA and DRS

Yes I have.

Unless I am using it wrong, I run a separate vmi client for each ESX server, so I have 4 vmi clients running.

So instead of 4 vmi cleints there other option is ?

you are doing it correct if you don't have vCenter. You would manage each host seperatly. You can download and evaluation vCenter Server for 60 days if you'd like.

site recovery or lab manager?

are you asking about these two products?

For what you are looking to do right now, you would want to evaluate VMware vCenter Server
