Vmware STD Intel to Vmware ESX AMD

We currently use Vmware Standard running on Windows Platform on Intel Chipset. We are looking to implement vmware infrustructure STD with Vmotion. The ESX servers will be HP BL45p servers which are AMD chipset. Will we be able to use VMWARE converter and import exsisting virtual servers running on the intel platform into ESX running the AMD platform?

Yes.. you should be able to do this. BTW, You refer to VMware Standard on Windows Platform. This would be VMware Server[/b].

As for the Intel to AMD conversion, the only time it's a problem is when you're using Vmotion on ESX. Vmotion can't live migrate to/from dissimilar chips.
