Virtualizing Windows NT Servers

Hello,

We have multiple purposes Windows NT servers in our environment. At this point, we are pondering the thought of converting them to run on our ESX 3.0.2 cluster. Does anyone have this set up in their esx 3.0.x environenment and if yes, has it been flawless? I am just trying to gather all the info or gotcha before deciding, so your thought is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Daniel

We still have 2 Windows NT systems running as VMs. These were originally P2Vd into VMs on ESX 2.5 and have been upgraded along the way to ESX 3.0.2. For NT the issues were no vSMP support and you must be at SP6a. Other than that I didnt run into any problems.

just done to a customer site.

no issue, just a little more works in configuring device after P2V (10 minutes instead on five Smiley Happy )

It's a good way to dismiss old HW on which NT is executed (often).
