VMotion & SCSI over FC

Hi all.

If I attach a SCSI device (HP Optical Jukebox) to my ESX Servers utilizing SCSI over Fibre Channel (see http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11364_na/11364_na.HTML for FC Bridge) would that allow VMotion? So I would have the SCSI attached to the bridge device and then a fiber connection from the bridge to each ESX server. Any reasons why VMotion of the server using the SCSI device would not work?

Thanks.

Hello,

As long as the SCSI based storage is seen by both hosts then it will work. We have had shared local scsi (MSA500). So there should be no reason why this should not. If a VMFS can be put on a LUN then ESX can use the device for vMotion.

Best regards,

Edward
