VCB installation question on Windows 2003 Enterprise

When installing VCB proxy on a Windows 2003 server it is recommended that you disable the auto mount feature in windows. I noticed in the document it said you did not have to do this on Windows 2003 Enterprise or DataCenter. Is this correct?

My current setup for info: Virtual Center 2.1 ESX 3.5 up1 on 3x HP DL460c G1 16gb EVA4100_1 20 Windows 2003 Ent VM's

Don't know if it's correct or not but why risk it? I run 03 Enterprise and I disabled it just in case, Smiley Happy.

Reason I ask is because it might affect my snapshot manager on my media server. Im not sure. I would think not but who knows. I would like to load VCB directly on my backup media server instead of another standalone box.

Automount is disabled by default in Enterprise and Datacenter. The best way to check your configuration is to open dispart and just type in automount and hit <ENTER>. It will return weather or not it is disabled. If it is enabled and you disable it, make sure your disk snapshotting functions properly before proceeding. Automount MUST be disabled or it will mess up your LUNs and try to assign drive letters.
