VC manage a remote Site - can Update Manager repository be also on local site?

Q: if a VC manage few ESX Hosts remotely and that VC also have Update Manager Plugin and Patch repository installed on the VC,

is it possible to have an additional repository on the remote site - so patches can be installed locally rather than over the wan?

There is only a single update manager file repository, so the answer to your question is no. However, unless you have rather slow links, sending these across the WAN wouldn't be that much of a load. I do mine over the WAN, and they update practically just as quick as the ones on the local WAN. One of mine is across a 5mb link, the other a 10mb. I imagine the only way you could have a local install, is to have two installs of VirtualCenter and therefore two installs of update manager. Not worth it....

We have exactly the same Problem. Can someone explain a way to manually patch the remote esx host via CD (without using our 1MBit/s site link) ?

Thank you!
