I am running VC2.02 against a SQL2000 db. I am planning on upgrading to VC2.5 next month, but I also have a need to migrate to SQL2005. Should I upgrade VC first and then migrate the database, or should I migrate the database first to SQL2005 and then upgrade VC?
You have to upgrade VC first, because it will upgrade your current database. So I would migrate to 2005 SQL 64-bit SP2, and then Upgrade VC, then it will upgrade the existing DB, so make a backup, so you don't lose your configuration.
