USB Question

Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to somehow boot from a USB device within VMware on startup. I've looked around, but haven't been able to turn up any results.

The reason I need to know is, I'm trying to obtain screenshots of a program known as Symantec Ghost 8.2, which boots off a USB drive. I really have no idea how to obtain these screenshots without using a virtual machine (given how the program loads up before the pc even boots into the OS), but if anyone else has any other alternative suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them out.

Thank you for your time,

You might be able to do this with VMware Workstation (or Server) - http://www.vmware.com/community/thread.jspa?threadID=14057&messageID=153365

Hello,

You can definitely do this with workstation, but not ESX unless you copy the USB device to an ISO/flp image. I did the same thing for some documentation.

Best regards,

Edward
