Stream a virtual machine through a web page

Hi,

I was wondering if I can create a web page which allows me to access the virtual machine residing at the server.

Here is the flow of activities that I would like to perform:

1. I create and configure a virtual machine at the web server.

2. I create a website with a page that has the logic to give the user access to the virtual machine.

3. The user accesses the web page using the browser.

4.

The user interacts with the virtual machine from the web browser just

as he/she would access it from a virtualization software such as

Virtualbox/VMware/Virtual PC.

Please also tell if this is possible through some other virtualization software.

Thanks

Moved to Enterprise Strategy & Planning area.

I'm not sure to understand your question.

But some products (like VMware Server 2.x and vSphere) have a web interface to access the VM.

The problem is that not all traffic is incapsulated to 443 port (the web console goes to another port).

Thanks Andre,

Actually some time back I tried something of this sort. I underwent some free interactive trainings at the Microsoft Virtaul Labs:

http://www.microsoft.com/events/vlabs/default.mspx

It was exciting to use Windows Vista from my browser. At that time I did not have a system good enough to meet the minimum requirements of Vista.

So now I was wondering, if I could create such a combination of a virtual machine and a website that others can use through their web browser. Do these products (VMware Server 2.x and vSphere) allow such thing?

Yes, with the web access you can access from a browser.

But IMHO the performance are not so good, and usually I suggest to use RDP instead, directly to the VM (when the OS is working).

I believe VMware provides for a web based access to the virtual desktops/machines -
