Storage VMotion and disaster recovery

Two questions actually.

1. Can I use Storage VMotion to VMotion a machine over a WAN (to another site in another state).

2. We have a 2 node cluster (ESX 3.0.2) with HA and DRS. We're in process of bringing up another site in another state. I'm being asked if we should buy one single server to run ESX 3.x on and manage it as another site from Virtual Center over the WAN. It wouldn't be part of our existing cluster but separate.

The idea would be that we would sync/mirror the shared VDisks in our current environment to this new site's SAN and then if necessary (disaster) be able to bring up machines from our current site in this new site. Buying two machines for a two node cluster may not be possible in this new site. Any recommendations?

Thanks

sVMotion requires shared storage.

Also, maybe consider a VC cluster.
