Software load balancer or vm appliance?

I am looking for suggestions on good software based load balancers or virtual appliances (low cost).

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

You could use the Linux Virtual Server (LVS) Project, Microsoft NLB (not sure on cost), or similar tools. The 'F5' for example is not virtual and does not have a virtual version. So you are looking at other tools to achieve the same thing. If this is for web servers you can also look at Squid, etc.

As written before Linux Virtual Server (http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/) could be a good and cheap solution.

Maybe there is already a virtual appliance ready to run.
