Share LUNS between VMs

I have 2 VMs that I want to have share a Raw LUN. I can add the raw lun on the 1st VM but cannot see the raw lun for the 2nd VM. Can this be done? How do I add the LUN to both VMs.

Thanks,

Savoy6

Did you power down the VMs before the storage?

To take this a step further; when you're adding the LUN as an RDM and it asks what SCSI device node you want to attach it to; make sure you select a different adapter ID. You'll notice numbers like 0:1, 0:2, etc.

0 in this case is the adapter ID; and the 1 and 2 represent the SCSI ID.

That said you probably want to add your LUN as 1:0.

This will create a new LSI logic card and you will enable bus sharing on that.

You can then map the RDM to a second VM though keep in mind that vmotion won't work for these two vms anymore.

Hello,

You need to enable SCSI bus sharing on the VM SCSI Adapter.
