Schedule task to import a virtual machine establishing a daily frequency

Hello, I installed the Vmware Converter Enterprise Plugin v. 4.0.0 and I can´t schedule the task of importing a virtual machine setting a daily frequency.

Anyone know if I can do this and how I can do?

Thank you

I don't think it will work as you suggest. When you are importing, you're creating a vm, and currently, you can't create a vm over top of another, so there's no way to tell the import wizard you want to replace the existing vm during the import. There are other 3rd party apps that will do this, but you can't do it with converter.

Platespin has a product that does what you are trying to accomplish. They create a VM for dr purposes based on either a vm or physical server, and then will update the vm on an on-going basis so it stays updated with the source vm.

Script it.

If it doesn't need to be active, you can cook up a bash script and then set it up as a cron job. If it needs to be active you can always cook something up using vmPerl.
