Remove cluster Ha & DRS in Virtual Center

Hi

In my Virtual Center infrastructure I have installed HA & DRS for evaluation.

Now the demo period is expired and I have the cluster with the esx hosts into it. How can move out of the cluster the hosts without mistakes and damages?

Thanks

bye

I've never worked with trial editions but I can tell you how to do it in normal situations.

On the cluster item goto edit settings. Then remove HA and DRS by deselecting the options. Then click OK. All servers should be removed from HA and DRS duties.

If this isn't possible you can remove your hosts from virtual center by putting them in maintenance mode then remove them and then add tem to a new cluster without HA and DRS. Then migrate VM's to it. Bring down and remove and move the next host.

Hello,

You can also drag the hosts from the cluster to outside the cluster or to a new cluster. I would of course disable HA & DRS before doing so however.

Texiwill, You are correct however I did not know for sure if it will then deregister HA before moving.

Thinking about it logically any movement from or to the cluster in any way should result in registering/deregistering HA if nessecary.
