Query in regards to adding of external devices to ESX host.

Hi ,

I have couple of question:

1. Is it possible to attach a physical device like a scanner to a VM, if yes how ?

2. this question is in regards to VCB:

VCb integrates well with various products like VEEAM, vRanger, Backup exec 2010 etc. My query is is it possible to use VCB alone to back up the VM's in case of small environment. If "Yes" can somebody tell me the steps in details or any link which shows me the steps.
