Preplanning and licensing(fun)

I am using a 1u single single, quad core, dual nic to host webserver.

1. Can one license a single cpu?

2. General network layout is: --user<>internet<>authentcation device<>(subnet_1)<>webserver<>query(subnet_2)<>db_server.

I may be confusing multihoming with vSwitch here since the goal is to keep the webserver off of subnet_2 but to send requests to the db while the users remain on subnet_1

Am I confused?

That isn't correct. Single licences have been available for some time. You still have to buy them in pairs (ELA is different), but you can consume them individually.

You can not get a VI3 license for a single processor, but you will be able to get vSphere single processor license when it will be GAd ( - tomorrow ? - )

Thanks. I am rechecking with the seller.

Anyone care to take a crack at #2? Is that a viable config?
