Hello,
We are using Virtual infrastructure 3 with 2 datacenters in Germany.
Next time we shell install a new datacenter in Spain.
What do you think, would it be better to administrate all of them from the old VirtualCenter or to install a new one for Spain?
Thanks in advance.
hi
we are planning a new IT setup and my client need 99.9 present down time due to hardware failure. please suggest me how its possible using vmware network infrastructure. what i want is that i need a vmware product through which i used all my servers as logically one machine and then host multiple vm machines on it so if any physical server goes down. my vm machines should run continuously like in clustering environment
i would install a new one in each datacenter and use vSphere vCenter Linked mode so you can see everything from 1 vCenter console.
Thank you.
Does it work with VI 3? The old one is not updated to vSphere yet.
vCenter Server Standard 4.0 is required to use linked mode.

Is linked mode an additional license cost or is that included?
It's included within vCenter, so no extra licenses are needed
But do you need to pay for a 2nd license of VC?
Of course you have to, vCenter is not for free
But do you need to pay for a 2nd license of VC?
Yes... and remember that both must be vCenter Standard to have linked mode (and also Orchestrator).
