Networking for vmware

One of my companies customers wants to put our web app on some fancy new servers and they want something ridiculously OP to run it on so they can impress their government and competitors. They want 4 servers and an IBM System Storage array and we are thinking about recommending ESX.

Having never seriously done this type of setup using vSphere are there any special considerations for networking or things I could do to improve speeds and avoid bottlenecks to the SAN? Should I take a look at switches like the Nexus 1000v? How much redundancy between networking appliances should I shoot for?

Feel free to suggest anything, I have an unlimited budget for this project. Our app runs on IIS and SQLServer200x so client machine gotta be windows.

Can you calculate the required bandwidth of your VMs?

Then you can use multiple GigaNICs (or 10Gbps NICs) to reach the disordered throughput.
