We currently use Vmware Standard running on Windows Platform on Intel Chipset. We are looking to implement vmware infrustructure STD with Vmotion. The ESX servers will be HP BL45p servers which are AMD chipset. Will we be able to use VMWARE converter and import exsisting virtual servers running on the intel platform into ESX running the AMD platform?
Hi, this shouldbe possible, if your VMs support a change of CPU from Intel to AMD. Windows VMs should be OK, however Linux distro's often have separate installers for AMD and Intel.
