Maximum Number of Registered VM's per host powered off?

Is there a maximum number of VM's per host even if the guests are powered off?

Thanks,

Pete

No, as VM's can have 1, 2 or 4 vCPU's per VM - it is measured in vCPU's

These will be "active" vcpu's - limit is 128

Once you hit the vCPU limit - you will not be able to power on any additional VM's

attached the max config docs - 301/201 + 35/25

The only reference I can see to this is Number of virtual CPUs per server which is 128, the following is a list of all current configured maximums...

http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vi3_35/esx_3/r35/vi3_35_25_config_max.pdf
