Hello,
when buying vspher4 licenses, does that include the right to use vi3.5 instead?
e.g. if there are issues with vsphere4 because of being "just too new" - is it possible to install/use vi3.5 instead ?
(that was a question popping up in a business talk yesterday)
regards
roland
Yes is possible.
You have to enter in the license management web area, and require VI 3 license.
Seems that the operation could require some hours.

Yes, you can downgrade.
This is from vSphere licensing portal:
>If you have VMware vSphere 4.0 license keys and wish to convert some or all of them to increase your available VMware Infrastructure 3 licenses, use this page to downgrade the desired number of the license keys.
>Once you have completed the downgrade request, you will be able to access your newly generated VI3 license information in the VI3 License Portal.
thanks !
Yes vSphere licenses are downgradeable to VI3, Log into your license portal and click the circled link and follow the instructions.
