Increasing LUN size

I just asked the storage guys for some additional SAN space and instead of carving of a new LUN the stretched an existing one. When I rescan the HBA's I can see that the additional space is there but it is my understanding that it is currently unusable as I cannot have two VMFS volumes on one LUN. Is there a way to stretch the size of a VMFS without using extents?

Hello.

If you have vSphere, you can use the VMFS Volume Grow feature to expand it. With older versions, you will need to use extents or move everything off and then re-create the VMFS volume the size you want it to be.

Good Luck!
