ISA server on ESX server

Hi All,

Has anyone configured ISA as a VM on ESX server; is it possible to assign a Physical NIC connected on the ESX server to directly talk to the ISA server without going through the virtual switch.

Regards,

Vijay

Yes, for years without a hitch.

It will need to go through a port group on a virtual switch but it can be the only VM on the switch.

At my previous company we had a NLB'd ISA setup as well. They were on the shared DMZ vSwitch and did not have any problems as well.

As for giving the VM its own pNIC it is possible. You would have to create a new vSwitch and only assign it to the ISA VM.
