How to serialize the execution of scripts within the linux is using ESX

I need to scheduled a task that should:

- turn off the virtual machine

- generate a virtual machine template

- turn on the virtual machine

I can't do this from the ESX scheduler so I am thinking on using the

Linux that is there. Has somebody done something like this? Is it

possible to it?
