How to create multiple Datastores on local scsi storage

Hello All,

If you have a local ESX 3.5 host with local scsi storage how do you create multiple datastores. I would like to create 2 datastores. One for my VM's and one for my ISO's. I have tried partitioning 2 VMFS3 partitions at the time of creating ESX however when I remove the storage to rename it it will only allow me to create 1 datastore? Can this be done?

Is there any downside to just creating a folder in the 1 datastore called ISO and dump my iso files there?

I should also point out that I only have 1 raid controller

you'll have to manually partition the free space from the Service Console using fdisk.

If its only for having an ISO store, i wouldn't bother.

Just create a folder like you said yourself, no downsides, except that you'll have to watch out you don't fill up your datastore with ISOs and other stuff.
