ESX Monitoring compatibility with MOM

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is any software that can be used with ESX 3.0.2 UPD1 to send monitoring information to MOM.

I am looking for something that doesn't use an intermediary to pass on information to MOM.

Many thanks

Steve

I wrote something about a year ago on how to do this... If you have VirtualCenter

Not sure if it will work in 3.5, as I haven't tried it.

If you don't have VB.NET, I can send you the app... But I can't support it...

Tried it. It works okay. I was using SCOM 2007 though...

Which one did you try?

And if you tried the commercial one, how much is it?

MOM is not a good monitring tool for vmware environments. It is the old way , it is not dynamic monitoring

Build our own minds over the following monitoring tools

Ask them when esx 3i is support, if agent is installed on the esx server(For example virtugo do this)

1.) Intuive

This is now my favorite. This i have not tested.

Requires no manual rules, scripts or thresholds that is what is really interessting.

Demo

2.) Vizioncore vchater

This I tested and I like that I can view the process inside the vm, like you can do in ms task manager

3.Veem Monitor

This I tested and I like that the Top 5 View showed me that I directly could see that one vm need 2 GB Ram, but had only 1 GB

4.) Virtugo
