Sorry guys, unless someone from VMware wants to overrule me I removed the links as this is not "Official GA" release.

Hi,
As one of the program managers for the release, I can tell you that what is posted is NOT the final bits so please do not download. Please wait for the official announcement with the actual build number before downloading. We will make this announcement as soon as everything is ready to go.
Thanks for your patience,
Kathy
at the speed i'm downloading it's going to take all day !
5 minutes left. Although the new IO guide isn't online. And do we need to upgrade our licenses?
For some reason its not letting me get the new VC 2.5... Says the product isnt available for me.. It would be real nice to have soem info on upgrade path or new licensing for these products. If I have to buy a new license just for VC 2.5 it may be a bit before move forward with an upgrade.
Help me help you by scoring points.
Burning the ISO right now!! Do you happen to have a link for the consolidation helper?
Great Find!
Almost done downloading... It has only taken me about 5 minutes for everything...
Sweet!
I'm downloading right now. The download page says
"To use this product, you will need to[
License Redemption Overview|http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vi3_license_steps.pdf]. "
So, I'm guessing (hoping) that the license server and licenses are the same.
Nice. Though I'd be wary in downloading it until its officially released and made more publicly available. Usually these things are setup before a final sweep is done to find any last minute obvious gotcha's in programming or documentation. Never know what they might find.
I had to call VMware and get some ties to my email/login straightened out and I now have access to VC250.. This product is available for download and use per VMwares licensing rep.

Cool! ESX 3.5... I hope I can test that later
Looks like we get the jump on everyone else!!

*Virtualization is a journey, not a project.*
This is so cool. The downlods went smooth and fast.
I can't wait to get this up in my lab.
I've downloaded it and installed it and already found the "Easter Egg"
1. you have to call your host "findtheegg.vmware.com"
2. you have to have a local VMFS volume of exactly 10.1GB in size
3. you have to create a vm on this host called "onestepleft"
4. power on this VM and the remote console will display an animation of ESX kicking Xen/Oracle and Viridian off the screen
ah, suckers!!!
sorry - couldn't resist....
Is documentation online?
Guys, the product has not GA'd yet. I would not recommend using any build until the formal GA announcement is made. Until the GA announcement is made, there is no guarantee that this will be the final release build. I don't know how the software got posted, but do NOT consider this production ready code until the formal announcement and build number is released.
Paul
From the post below about this not being GA...
I would wonder why the Licensing Rep would say that you are allowed to use it.
Awesome, thanks for the linkage!
I should think it will be shortly, if not someone would have taken this down already.
The product has not GA'd yet, and the Customer Service and Technical Support teams have not yet been notified of the product's release.
Until ESX 3.5 / VC 2.5 is formally released as GA, please do NOT expect any ESX 3.5 / VC 2.5 build to be "release quality" or officially supported.
We are reviewing the matter internally.

He had no objections and I told him exactly what I was doing.. I
specifically told him I wanted to upgrade to 2.5.0 and he went right
along with me..
I can assume from the "it's not GA'ed" post that he may not have been
informed to let people know it is not ready yet.
Sorry if I assumed he would tell me that it was not available for use at
this time.
