Determine vm size and datastore

I'm seeking a solution to determine information on a per vm basis.

I need to be able to see how big each VMDK is for a VM and what store each vmdk is on.

i know that veeam does some of that. but is there a simple script or commands that could be run on the console or in VC to determine this same information?

the more cost effect solution i guess.

the trouble with using a Grep command is that the vmdk names don't always represent the proper names of the VMs
