Could not collect Processor and/or RAM information

Hi,

At my customer place i carried out the Capacity Planner Activity.

When trying to run Test Collection, I am receiving error "Connect to WMI failed" However, i continued to run inventory task for servers. When I run it, provides me with the following status: "Could not collect Processor and/or RAM information" The servers shown in the system type are Microsoft WIndows PDC and BDC Servers. Actually they are the domain controllers.

Can anyone help me out .

Regards,

Rahiz

What version of Windows are they running, and do you have the apropriate domain credentials to access those counters?

Hi Cody,

Its WIndows Server 2003 Standard. I am using the Enterprise Admin Account. I can connect the WMI Service properties on the server and it provides me the details.

Is there any solution to WMI error without which i cannot get inventory and performance details.

Also, it has Symantec EndPoint Protection AV. I know it has nothing to do with that.

Rahiz

So using this account you're able to fire up perfmon and get the needed counters? Other than that, I'm not certain.

Hi,

I tested using WMI Diag from microsoft and the test shows successful. However I tried using WMI Analyzer and in that it shows No Registry Entry found for WMI. Have checked the same at HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI\Security.

The problem is only with the WMI.

Do you have any workaround for WMI for acessing remotely.

Rahiz

You've likely already seen this, but it's worth a link for others that may be looking: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/scriptcenter/topics/help/wmi.mspx
