Converting ESX licenses to ESXi

Is it possible to use the an ESX license for an ESXi server?  If not, what is involved in converting an ESX license to an ESXi license?

Thanks

There's no difference in licensing.  The license number is issued for vSphere and you can use it with ESXi or ESX.

Your ESX license is the same as an ESXi license, so just go ahead and apply it.

The only caveat is that the Free ESXi license does not cover you on ESX at all. - No porcess, other than re-allocating the license to your ESXi host on the licensing tab.

One day I will virtualise myself . . .
