Considerations for 32 vcpu vm

As more and more conversations come up about these super VMs (32 vcpu/1 TB vmI began to get curious on what considerations should be made before implementing this technology and I have not really found to much.  Does any one have any recommendations or can someone point me in the right direction to find

general considerations

processor  type (intel/amd)

requirements

cons.

Thanks

My considerations would be.

1. Will the application utilise all 32 vCPU's

2. The vSphere design needs to factor in this requirement. IF you are deploying into an exisiting cluster do you have the resources to support such a VM. Impact on HA and DRS also need to be considered.

3. Is it a good idea to virtualise this application - what am i gaining and do the benefits outway the disadvantages.

4. What will be the disk, network and ram resources required to support this VM - can i meet them by deploying the application in a VM.

5. Will i give it a dedicated cluster to provide the resilience and redundancy it requires.

IMHO you must also consider your physical CPU. For example: if you have only 16 cores with HT, it does not make sense make a VM with 32 vCPU.
