Capacity Planner and SunOS

Has anyone been able to successfully include Solaris 9 servers in capacity planner? I ran into some problems a few months ago with a client and ended up excluding the servers. Here's a detailed explanation in my blog: http://terenceluk.blogspot.com/2010/07/capacity-planner-and-solaris-servers.html

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I cannot claim to have this working, but I have fought through nix based systems before.

The easiest thing to do is setup the cap planner scripts directly on the nix boxes and let the box collect the data.

This way it will run as root directly on the box.

The hardest part is moving the collected files from the outbox directory on the nix system to the cap planner outbox, so they can be uploaded to opitimize site.

But this method works great for nix systems, use it all the time.

in the working directory of cap planner you will find the linux/unix scripts, you move them over run the setup shell commands and it will setup the cron jobs.

this link goes to the help document at the optimize site so you might have to be logged in to read it.
