Hi,
please does anybody know some way how to give customers really relevant VMware official statement which informs and really assures that CP is really really safe for them? You know customers are really afraid about security of sending data from their datacenters to some remote "location" somewhere in US. My and also customer idea is to have official statement with truly trustwothy format of some kind of certificate of trust. Or something like NDA agreement officially signed by VMware officials. If someone knows aboutpossibilities mentioned, please send info. Customers really really asking this and Im not surprised that they are doing so.
Thanks,
Frantisek
I do not know if there is an official statement because of the flexibility you have as the consultant of the data being sent back to the data warehouse - I believe on partner central there are soem documents that do discuss the security of the capacity planner process -

You can always hide the real names that are sent out. I've worked in places where this was not allowed. I've used generated names, and not allowed the information to be automatically sent out. Once this information is generated locally, you can edit out any site-specific information (domain names will get you here), then you can manually load them into the dashboard.

Hello. Not exactly what you want, but perhaps it will help: http://vmetc.com/wp-content/uploads/CP_Security_FAQ.pdf
Good Luck!
There is a security document in the dashboard. If its a real big issue simply use PlateSpin Recon. It does all the same, you only pay per machine for the time period you monitor (say one month) and you can then run and analyse the data at no further cost for as long as you want. All of the data stays within the customer site.

There is a security document for CP, you can download it from optimize - but you have to have an account...
