Best network card at best price

Can any one suggest me a good network card at cheap price (as per the ESC HCL) since this is for my home lab. I have checked couple of network cards and most of them are not working.

I am located in India .

Cheap working cards (not on the HCL) are the Intel Pro Desktop NICs (available in 100M and 1000M variants).

please mention the model number and version of the nic because I have a Intel 82540oem but this is not getting detected on my ESX 3.0.1

Is it an built in adapter or a Internal desktop adapter because i am trying to setup my ESX box from 3 monthes and every time i am finding a new problem .

It's a PCI card not an onboard chip.

I want to Install Exchange in couple of test environements so planning to deploy ESX and also planning to do VCP

HW AMD Athlon 3000+

2 GIG ram AMD Asus K8NE mother board

Intel Pro 1000 T server adapter and Intel 82540 oem 1Gig nics

IDE 40 GIG and san melody on another machine

so planning to deploy windows 2003 on my AMD on ESX 3.0.1 please help
