Using ESX Ranger Pro & vCB snapshots, backup VMs to a DataDomain dedup box replicated to another DataDomain dedup box at hotsite. At hotsite, use ESX Ranger Pro (or standard backup software) to restore files to a generic storage array (probably iSCSI) and also spool to tape for long-term retention of data.
Crazy? I have too many arrays to buy SRDF for and immediate recover isn't a business requirement today.
Anyone? Any thoughts at all?
